As all of us work to finish the year strong and set goals for 2020, Placer Title Company team wanted to make sure we congratulated Mary O’Donnell on becoming president of the American Land Title Association. Mary is a great friend of Placer Title, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her at the helm at ALTA. In her day job, Mary is the president and CEO of Westcor Land Title Insurance Company. Westcor is one of our strong underwriters, so you’ve probably heard us mention that name. (Our parent company has a minority ownership stake in Westcor, so we know Mary and her team well.)

Mary used her opening remarks at ALTA’s national convention last month to talk about the dangers of wire fraud and why it’s important to embrace change (as well as remind people she has an awesome British accent). During her presidency, O’Donnell said ALTA will continue to help members protect their customers’ money, prepare for digital closings, train and retain employees and show members how they can tell their story better.
Mary’s presidency succeeds another great friend of Placer Title, Cynthia Durham Blair NTP, as the association’s president. Our company’s membership in ALTA has some tangible perks for our Realtors and lenders too.
