Like all of you, the Placer Title team is keeping a close eye on all the latest news and speculation on the future of the housing market, which may be heading for a cool down or at least a stabilization. The Federal Reserve raised interest rates in March for the first time since 2018 and signaled six more increases in 2022. After that, mortgage rates increased from 3% to 5% in a month and applications dropped 40% from a year ago. While this is not exactly music to the ears of real estate professionals, it’s not time to panic.

 It’s time to plan.

We’ve talked about the importance of building a brand within real estate for years. Many of you are doing a great job, but now it’s time to take your efforts to the next level.  In a tightening market, you need to market your business effectively to stay ahead of the competition. Here are four steps you can take today to stay at the top of your game.

Update Your Website

Make sure you don’t have any broken links or outdated information on your website. This will hurt you when people are searching for your services on Google. Also, make sure it is mobile-friendly. Millennials make up 43% of homebuyers – the most of any generation – and they are house hunting on their phones. We updated our website last year and can definitely say it’s worth it.

Produce Blog Content

After all, you’re reading this piece. Engaging and insightful blog content will build trust among consumers for your services. Show them what you know! Blogs bring people to your website for free unlike paid avenues like ads on Facebook or Google. Just remember, these take longer to get results than paid ads (think six months to a year), but trust us, the wait is worth it.

 Post on Social Media

Those same millennials looking for their homes on their phones are constantly distracted from the search by something on Twitter or TikTok. Use it to your advantage! Social Media is a great way to connect with your consumers and can’t be ignored. Whatever you do, though, be consistent. Don’t just send one tweet and never look back. Write up a schedule to remind yourself to log on and interact with your consumers at least once a week. (While you’re at it, be sure to follow Placer Title on Facebook and Instagram, as well!)

Feature Testimonials

Yes, we’re talking about the importance of reviews again. 72% of people say positive reviews and testimonials make them trust a business more. You probably have hundreds of happy customers who would love to talk about their experience with your business. They will be honored to be featured on your website showing off your hard work!

No matter what the future may bring, the Placer Title team is in your corner. We are grateful to be the partner you can count on to provide knowledge, resources, and trusted solutions to all of your title, escrow and marketing needs.  Reach out to us whenever you or your customers need a dedicated expert on your side.
