About El Dorado County
El Dorado County is at the heart of California's Gold Rush country, often called the “Mother Lode.” Folsom Lake and rolling foothills are on our western border with Sacramento County. Lake Tahoe and 10,000 foot mountain peaks are on the eastern border that we share with the state of Nevada. Within these borders are great rivers, lakes, gold mines, historic towns, incredible views and everything that nature has to offer.
El Dorado County is just 30 miles east of Sacramento, California's State Capitol and only 40 miles west of Carson City, Nevada's State Capitol. San Francisco lies 125 miles to the west and Reno is a mere 50 miles to the northeast of the “Golden Country.”
Here are some of the organizations that we proudly support...
CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. CASA El Dorado recruits, trains and supports volunteer advocates for abused and neglected children who have been removed from their homes and placed into foster care. Children who have a CASA advocate spend less time in foster care, receive more services and are half as likely to end up in long term foster care. The overwhelming majority of these children are less than six years old and truly need the love and support of our advocates. Box Lunch proceeds ensure children in need will be matched with a caring advocate.
Placer Title Company is a proud supporter of the El Dorado County Association of Realtors (EDCAR). We like to participate in their Fun Run, Walk, or Crawl event that benefits the REALTOR's Sunshine Fund, which is used to send cards, flowers and remembrances to members who are ill or who have suffered the loss of a loved one.
Many businesses and individuals have joined together to form our Chamber of Commerce; we are devoted to preserving the quality of life in El Dorado County by advocating and promoting a strong, healthy and diverse business community.
El Dorado Hills is a community that enjoys the kind of location that Californians dream about close to skiing, the ocean, wineries and state parks. Located 25 miles from downtown Sacramento and 90 minutes from Lake Tahoe, El Dorado Hills boasts acres of lush rolling hills with breathtaking views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the Sacramento valley.
The Food Bank provides food assistance on a daily basis in partnership with over 40 local emergency food response agency sites including battered women’s shelters, senior centers, local food pantries, under privileged youth programs, youth shelters, soup kitchens, maternity homes and more.
The Shingle Springs/Cameron Park Chamber of Commerce, originally formed as the Shingle Springs Business and Professional Association Inc. in December 1967. It works to promote the local area, encouraging business and industrial investment to provide the foundation for a solid community.
