We know there has been a lot written about people moving since the start of the pandemic. In fact, the Sacramento area has continued to be one of top the markets that has welcomed in an influx of new residents, and we’re very excited about that.

The Placer Title team has more good news. Plenty of people are still considering making a move this year. Consider this survey from LendingTree that showed nearly 40% of Americans are thinking about moving in 2022.

GenZers, millennials, remote workers, renters, and parents with young children are the most common groups looking to change their living situation. But that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re looking to move across the country. One interesting tidbit: Only about 40% of those who reported wanting to move were looking at changing cities, meaning a majority of people who want to move this year are looking to do so within their own communities.

Bottom line is that while we have been busy the last couple of years, that will only continue in 2022. That’s certainly a good thing, though plenty of challenges do await. The importance of picking an experienced title and escrow partner like Placer Title is important not only to your buyers and sellers – but to our fellow real estate professionals, too! We are grateful for your continued business and hope to be involved in your success all year long.

The top reason motivating Americans to consider a move? A desire for more space. More specifically, outdoor space and bigger kitchens will be less negotiable in upcoming home searches. This longing for spacious living may be due to pet ownership, considering over half of GenZers and millennials are seeking out pet-friendly locations. Other forms of space Americans are looking for include a guest bedroom and office space.

No matter what is motivating your buyers and sellers to find their next home, a smooth settlement is at the top of everyone’s wish list, and that’s exactly what Placer Title has been aiming to provide all over California for almost 50 years.
