As people continue to work remotely and practice social distancing, finding new ways to connect with employees and customers is critical. Placer Title Company is working harder than ever to  provide the excellent service you’ve always expected from us. Our mission is to meet the needs of our real estate partners, despite the lack of in-person interaction. We aim to be a trusted resource, not only for navigating the title and real estate industry, but for anything related to your real estate business.

We understand that your relationship with customers remains top-of-mind, which is why we’re excited to share our knowledge when it comes to communicating via video and social media. We hope you’ll be able to apply some of this valuable information to your own customers. Whether you prefer videoconferencing or sending a pre-recorded video via email or social media, here are some do’s and don’ts:

Do:

  1. Have a purpose or call to action with every video, social media post and meeting.
  2. Be aware of what is happening around you while on a video call/sending videos so that you don’t accidentally share someone else’s personal information.
  3. Be authentic. Show your personal side, not your personal life. There is a balance!
  4. When sharing an article or information, be specific about how that individual or office can use the tool you’re sharing. Stay away from sharing generic information.
  5. Use real life examples.
  6. Be a thought leader. Ask engaging questions and share valuable information.
  7. Create a content calendar.
  8. Share photos and videos of your team demonstrating what business looks like today.

Don’t:

  1. Violate your local orders. Know what your local orders are and be sure to abide by them.
  2. Use personal accounts when posting work related information.
  3. Allow interruptions (whenever possible.) Be sure to mute yourself not talking. If you’re recording a video, try to re-record if there is an interruption.
  4. Share too much of your personal life. You can be authentic, but still give a curated experience.
